It is sure to be an exciting evening filled with many surprises.

  1. Tell us more about GL Homes being this year’s recipient of the Hero of Hope award.

It is an honor to present GL Homes with our 2018 Jay DiPietro Hero of Hope award. They embody all of the criteria that we look for when it comes to this award. GL Homes is a company that goes above and beyond and touches all the different parts of what Place of Hope does. From sponsoring our State of the State to installing a spectacular playground for the children at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus – they do it all. They are long time advocates for Place of Hope. We are so grateful for GL Homes and their leadership for the work they do towards our goals at Place of Hope.

  1. Tell us more about the playground that GL Homes just donated to your Boca Raton campus.

We could not be more excited for the amazing playground GL Homes recently installed at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus. It was amazing to see the children’s excitement as it was being built and even better to see them playing and having a great time. It gives these children an opportunity to just be a kid and play. GL Homes did a top notch job with the playground and the incredible awning that keeps it in the shade for the children. This playground will be around for long time to serve the children in our care.

  1. Tell us more about Place of Hope.

Place of Hope is the largest faith-based family-style, state-licensed children’s organization in the region.  We provide hope and healing to abused, abandoned and neglected children in our own backyard. It is our mission to honor God by serving these traumatized children, young adults and families. We provide family-style foster care on an emergency and long-term basis; family outreach and intervention; maternity care; safety for victims of human trafficking. We have transitional housing and support services for youth aging out of the foster care system and otherwise homeless youth. Place of Hope licenses and trains foster families in our communities giving them the support they need.

  1. How can people and organizations can get more involved and support Place of Hope.

I encourage you to come take a tour of The Leighan and David Rinker Campus. Volunteers are an integral part of the functioning and development of Place of Hope. We are in consistent need of people willing to volunteer their time and skills in whatever area they can. Whether you are a mentor, a cook or a handyman, we invite and encourage you to use your God-given abilities to serve at Place of Hope. Volunteering will have a lasting impact on the lives of the children and youth in our care and it will impact you as well. Visit our website at www.placeofhope.com.
