Boca’s popular wine and food weekend event, Boca Bacchanal, returned last month with a new backdrop.
The 17th annual fundraiser for the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum took place at the Boca Raton Resort & Club and featured new events with food from local eateries and vintners from across the world.
The festivities began with a new event on a Thursday evening, Burgers and Bubbles. The burger bash took place at the Boca Resort’s Beach Club.
A favorite of the night was the sliced tuna burger with wasabi mayo and Asian slaw on a Hawaiian potato roll.
The weekend continued with Friday’s signature Vintner Dinners. Guests attended intimate dinner parties where they were served five-course, wine-paired meals in private homes.
And then the highlight of the event, the Grand Tasting, took place at the Boca Resort’s Great Hall on Saturday night. More than 1,600 people attended the event, which raised over $225,000 for the Historical Society.
But before the finale event, some folks enjoyed a VIP party showcasing the featured vintners dockside. Sipping wines and champagnes, the group also was offered tours aboard a 127-foot yacht, The Kimberlie.
Then, the doors opened to dinner-by-the-bite from dozens of local restaurants and samplings of over 100 wines.
As guests entered, they were welcomed by an airport theme to go with the “From New York City to California Wine Country” theme of the night.
In one wing, a “Central Park” lounge greeted guests with Taittinger Champagne and clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue. Exotic cars from Excell Auto Group lined the room and food stations were located throughout. The other side of the room was decorated to reflect California Wine Country.
