Interested in Israeli politics? Ambassador Ido Aharoni, a Global Distinguished Professor at New York University and Israeli Ambassador to New York from 2010 to 2016, will lecture on Israeli politics this month at FAU as part of the Distinguished Lecture series.

The series of Thursday lectures titled, “Israel’s Contemporary Challenges and Opportunities” will take place on March 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 4 p.m.

Distinguished Professor Aharoni is a 25-year veteran of Israel’s Foreign Service and was Israel’s longest serving consul-general in New York. He held that position for six years and oversaw the operations of Israel’s largest diplomatic mission worldwide.

Residing in the world’s most dangerous region, Israel has become a beacon for democracy, civil liberties, market principles and military power. In this four-week series, join Ambassador Aharoni for his insightful analysis of the challenges that Israel faces and its opportunities moving forward. Topics include: Israel and Saudi Arabia, Israel and the United States, The Iran Nuclear Deal, and The Arab Spring.
