The Circus is Coming to Downtown Delray Beach


DELRAY BEACH, FL – On Thursday, May 17th, the recently renovated Signature Delray Beach Event Series, “On The Ave,” will have its most exciting installment to date. The Big Top “On The Ave” is free to the public and will span six blocks of Atlantic Avenue, from Swinton Ave to SE/NE Sixth Ave, from 6pm to 10pm. The exciting evening will feature a full Cirque-Style Circus and Flying Trapeze. The Rainbow Circus, based out of Miami,will have an eclectic mix of performers on each block. The interactive circus will include highflying acrobats, contortionists, aerial dancers and so much more. Trapeze Experience will have a full-scale flying trapeze on the front lawn of Old School Square for anyone to attempt. The “Open Air Gallery” contemporary art show will run the center line of Atlantic Avenue for all six blocks and the “Live the Arts” featured merchant gallery will host various Delray Beach arts programs and schools. Circus food, music, scattered street performers, a Fiat 500 car display and interactive contests will all be part of this colorful occasion. Rainbow Circus Productions provides both Cirque-style and traditional-style circus entertainment. Their troop of professional performers have worked with top circuses around the world, including both Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Brothers. Keep your eye out for the special photographer who will be strolling the Ave taking pictures of guests with circus performers for a Facebook feature. If you are interested in becoming an acrobat yourself, make sure to stop by Old School Square and take a swing on the flying trapeze. A special discounted two-hour trapeze class will be held from 4pm to 6pm at Old School Square for the first eight people to register and the trapeze will be open for single rides from 6pm to 10pm.
