  1. The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District is installing two new scoreboards at Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail. The district agreed to spend up to $35,000.
  2. FAU women’s basketball player Yolanda Griffith was named to the WNBA’s “Top 20 at 20” list, which celebrates 20 of the greatest and most influential players.
  3. Personal finance website WalletHub ranked Boca Raton the seventh best city in the state for jobs.
  4. Construction on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility at Boca Raton Airport has begun. Officials estimate it will take about one year to complete construction.
  5. Property values are estimated to increase 7.46 percent in Boca Raton, according to preliminary estimates sent to the state from the Palm County Property Appraiser.
  6. Lynn University now has women’s track as an NCAA Division II athletic program. It is the first sports expansion since Lynn added lacrosse in 2012. Now, Lynn has 15 sports programs, nine women and six men.

  8. Monday nights are “Bike Nites” at 7 p.m. at Tilted Kilt. Brenner Real Estate Group’s Leandro Pereira is hosting an event held by Fury Road Riders to benefit nonprofit Natural High, dedicated to inspire youth to discover their natural high so they have a reason to say no to drugs and alcohol. Fury Road R.C. is a recreational motorcycle riding club that supports the Natural High Community Awareness Initiative as a platform for impacting the community.   10. Gumbo Limbo has a Sea Turtle Camp for first and second grade students from Aug. 1 to Aug. 5 and third, fourth and fifth graders from Aug. 8 to Aug. 12.
